The current period is not ideal for fast bowlers in any way, but there are some bowlers who have troubled the batsman with their extraordinary deliveries.

No Pakistani bowler had more wickets then Amir who had a chance to play less than ten matches in that period. More than any bowler who has played eight or less matches in that period.
In 2017, Mohammad Amir have economy rate 5.88 runs in the T20 International matches. No Pakistani bowler have better economy rate who have bowled at least 5 overs in T20 International matches.
In 2017, there are only three out of 35 world's bowler who have economy rate lower than 6.00 and take at least 10 wickets (Mohammad Amir, Rashid Khan and Sunil Narine). Mohammad Amir is the only fastest bowler in the world who have economy rate lower than 6.00. Even though only Fahim Ashraf & Buhneshwar Kumar have lower economy rate than 7.00 in 2017.
Mohammad Amir has taken wicket on almost every 11th delivery in 2017. This was the best strike rate of any world's fast bowler who had taken at least 10 wickets in this period and the second best strike rate overall (spinner & fast bowlers) after Rashid Khan.
In last one and half year, Muhammad Amir have showed great character in T20 international matches. He also have best bowling average of 11.30 in fast bowlers in that period and second best overall (spinner & fast bowlers) after Rashid Khan.
